বরিশাল বগুড়া রোডে অবস্থিত অক্সফোর্ড মিশন স্কুলের রয়েছে একটি গৌরবজ্জ্বল ইতিহাস এবং সুপরিচিতি। ১৯০০ সালের ১লা জানুয়ারি খ্রিষ্টান মিশনারীদের উদ্যোগে স্কুলটি প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল। ১৯০০ সাল থেকে অদ্যাবধি সহস্রাধিক শিক্ষার্থী এই স্কুল থেকে অধ্যয়ন করে সমাজের বিভিন্নক্ষেত্রে নেতৃত্ব দিচ্ছে। ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের মনন গঠন , ইতিবাচক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি তৈরি সহ সকল ধরনের মানুষের প্রতি সম্মান করার শিক্ষা হল এই স্কুলের একটি গৌরবোজ্জ্বল দিক । এই স্কুলের প্রাক্তন ছাত্রছাত্রীবৃন্দ দীর্ঘ সময় ধরে আনুষ্ঠানিক, অনানুষ্ঠানিকভাবে বিভিন্ন সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যমে সম্পৃক্ত হয়ে নিজেদের মধ্যে যোগাযোগ রেখেছেন। এই যোগাযোগের সূত্র ধরে, অত্র স্কুলের প্রাক্তন ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের সমন্বয়ে একটি এ্লামনাই গঠনের প্রস্তাব আসে এবং এটা নিয়ে বিভিন্ন ব্যাচের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের সাথে আলোচনার পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে ২০২১ সালের ১২ই নভেম্বর ঢাকার সিবিসিবিতে আরও অধিক সংগঠিত হয়ে একটি মত বিনিময় সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। ঐ সভায় উপস্থিত ছাত্রছাত্রীরা এলামনাই গঠনের পক্ষে একমত হন। সকলের মতামতের ভিত্তিতে একটি কনভেনিং টীম গঠন করা হয়। উক্ত টীমের অন্যতম কাজ হলো অতি দ্রুত একটি এ্লামনাই গঠনের জন্য প্রস্তুতিমূলক কাজ করা। এরই ধারাবাহিকতায় কনভেনিং টীম সফলতার সাথে সকল ধরনের মিটিং ও অন্যান্য কার্যক্রম শেষে আগামী ১০ই ফেব্রুয়ারি,২০২৩ তারিখে বরিশাল অক্সফোর্ড মিশন হাইস্কুল প্রাঙ্গনে বার্ষিক সম্মেলন এবং রিইউনিয়ন করার সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহন করেছে।
Oxford Mission High School located at Bogura Road, Barishal has a glorious history and reputation. The school was established on 01 January 1900 by Christian missionaries. Since 1900, millions of students have graduated from this school and are leading in various fields of society. This school contributed enormously in assembling students’ positive mindset and socialized them to respect all human irrespective of caste, religion and creed, helped to be liberal, and to be kind to all living being and to be fond of nature.
Ex-students have been keeping in touch with each other for a long time by engaging in various social media, formally and informally. Based on this communication, there was a proposal to form an Alumni consisting of the former students of the school and in view of the discussion with the students of different batches, a more organized discussion meeting was held at CBCB, Dhaka on 12th November 2021. The students present at that meeting agreed in favor of forming alumni. A convening team is formed based on everyone's opinion. One of the tasks of the team is to do preparatory work for the formation of an Alumni very quickly. In continuation of this, the convening team after successful completion of all kinds of meetings and other activities has decided to hold annual conference and reunion on 10th February, 2023 at Barishal Oxford Mission High School premises.
